1. Genesis 21:23

    Die de weldadigheid bewaart aan vele duizenden, Die de ongerechtigheid, en overtreding, en zonde vergeeft; Die den schuldige geenszins onschuldig houdt, bezoekende de ongerechtigheid der vaderen aan de kinderen, en aan de kindskinderen, in het derde en vierde lid.

    Zo zal het geschieden, omdat gij deze rechten zult horen, en houden, en dezelve doen, dat de HEERE, uw God, u het verbond en de weldadigheid zal houden, die Hij uw vaderen gezworen heeft;

    And the men answered her, Our life for yours, if ye utter not this our business. And it shall be, when the LORD hath given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with thee.

    Toen spraken die mannen tot haar: Onze ziel zij voor ulieden om te sterven, indien gijlieden deze onze zaak niet te kennen geeft; het zal dan geschieden, wanneer de HEERE ons dit land geeft, zo zullen wij aan u weldadigheid en trouw bewijzen.

    En de wachters zagen een man, uitgaande uit de stad; en zij zeiden tot hem: Wijs ons toch den ingang der stad, en wij zullen weldadigheid bij u doen.

    Zo zeide Naomi tot haar twee schoondochters: Gaat heen, keert weder, een iegelijk tot het huis van haar moeder; de HEERE doe bij u weldadigheid, gelijk als gij gedaan hebt bij de doden, en bij mij.

    And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye shewed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

    En Saul liet den Kenieten zeggen: Gaat weg, wijkt, trekt af uit het midden der Amalekieten, opdat ik u met hen niet wegruime; want gij hebt barmhartigheid gedaan aan al de kinderen Israels, toen zij uit Egypte opkwamen. Alzo weken de Kenieten uit het midden der Amalekieten.

    Doe dan barmhartigheid aan uw knecht, want gij hebt uw knecht in een verbond des HEEREN met u gebracht; maar is er een misdaad in mij, zo dood gij mij; waarom zoudt gij mij toch tot uw vader brengen?

    Toen zond David boden tot de mannen van Jabes in Gilead, en hij zeide tot hen: Gezegend zijt gij den HEERE, dat gij deze weldadigheid gedaan hebt aan uw heer, aan Saul, en hebt hem begraven.

    Then was Abner very wroth for the words of Ish-bosheth, and said, Am I a dog’s head, which against Judah do shew kindness this day unto the house of Saul thy father, to his brethren, and to his friends, and have not delivered thee into the hand of David, that thou chargest me to day with a fault concerning this woman?

    וַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜ד אֶעֱשֶׂה־ חֶ֣סֶד׀ עִם־ חָנ֣וּן בֶּן־ נָחָ֗שׁ כַּאֲשֶׁר֩ עָשָׂ֨ה אָבִ֤יו עִמָּדִי֙ חֶ֔סֶד וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח דָּוִ֧ד לְנַחֲמ֛וֹ בְּיַד־ עֲבָדָ֖יו אֶל־ אָבִ֑יו וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ עַבְדֵ֣י דָוִ֔ד אֶ֖רֶץ בְּנֵ֥י עַמּֽוֹן׃

    Then said David, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, as his father shewed kindness unto me. And David sent to comfort him by the hand of his servants for his father. And David’s servants came into the land of the children of Ammon.

    Toen zeide David: Ik zal weldadigheid doen aan Hanun, den zoon van Nahas, gelijk als zijn vader weldadigheid aan mij gedaan heeft. Zo zond David heen, om hem door den dienst zijner knechten te troosten over zijn vader. En de knechten van David kwamen in het land van de kinderen Ammons.

28. 2 Samuel 15:20

    תְּמ֣וֹל׀ בּוֹאֶ֗ךָ וְהַיּ֞וֹם אֲנִֽיעֲךָ֤ עִמָּ֙נוּ֙ לָלֶ֔כֶת וַאֲנִ֣י הוֹלֵ֔ךְ עַ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־ אֲנִ֖י הוֹלֵ֑ךְ שׁ֣וּב וְהָשֵׁ֧ב אֶת־ אַחֶ֛יךָ עִמָּ֖ךְ חֶ֥סֶד וֶאֱמֶֽת׃

    Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee.

    Gisteren zijt gij gekomen, en heden zou ik u met ons omvoeren om te gaan? Zo ik toch gaan moet, waarheen ik gaan kan, keer weder; en breng uw broederen wederom; weldadigheid en trouw zij met u.

29. 2 Samuel 22:51

    מִגְדּ֖וֹל יְשׁוּע֣וֹת מַלְכּ֑וֹ וְעֹֽשֶׂה־ חֶ֧סֶד לִמְשִׁיח֛וֹ לְדָוִ֥ד וּלְזַרְע֖וֹ עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃ פ

    He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

    Hij is een Toren der verlossingen Zijns konings, en Hij doet goedertierenheid aan Zijn gezalfde, aan David en aan zijn zaad, tot in eeuwigheid.

    But shew kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table: for so they came to me when I fled because of Absalom thy brother.

    Maar aan de zonen van Barzillai, den Gileadiet, zult gij weldadigheid bewijzen, en zij zullen zijn onder degenen, die aan uw tafel eten; want alzo naderden zij tot mij, als ik vluchtte voor het aangezicht van uw broeder Absalom.

    And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.

    En Salomo zeide: Gij hebt aan Uw knecht David, mijn vader, grote weldadigheid gedaan, gelijk als hij voor Uw aangezicht gewandeld heeft, in waarheid, en in gerechtigheid, en in oprechtheid des harten met U; en Gij hebt hem deze grote weldadigheid gehouden, dat Gij hem gegeven hebt een zoon, zittende op zijn troon, als te dezen dage.

32. 1 Koningen 8:23

    And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

    And his servants said unto him, Behold now, we have heard that the kings of the house of Israel are merciful kings: let us, I pray thee, put sackcloth on our loins, and ropes upon our heads, and go out to the king of Israel: peradventure he will save thy life.

    Toen zeiden de knechten tot hem: Zie toch, wij hebben gehoord, dat de koningen van het huis Israels goedertierene koningen zijn; laat ons toch zakken om onze lenden leggen, en koorden om onze hoofden, en uitgaan tot den koning van Israel; mogelijk zal hij uw ziel in het leven behouden.

34. 1 Kronieken 19:2

    And David said, I will shew kindness unto Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father shewed kindness to me. And David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. So the servants of David came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.

    And said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

    Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The LORD look upon it, and require it.

38. Ezra 7:28

    וְעָלַ֣י הִטָּה־ חֶ֗סֶד לִפְנֵ֤י הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְיֽוֹעֲצָ֔יו וּלְכָל־ שָׂרֵ֥י הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ הַגִּבֹּרִ֑ים וַאֲנִ֣י הִתְחַזַּ֗קְתִּי כְּיַד־ יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהַי֙ עָלַ֔י וָאֶקְבְּצָ֧ה מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֛ל רָאשִׁ֖ים לַעֲל֥וֹת עִמִּֽי׃ פ

    And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king’s mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.

    En heeft tot mij weldadigheid geneigd, voor het aangezicht des konings en zijner raadsheren, en aller geweldige vorsten des konings! Zo heb ik mij gesterkt, naar de hand des HEEREN, mijns Gods, over mij, en de hoofden uit Israel vergaderd, om met mij op te trekken.

39. Ezra 9:9

    כִּֽי־ עֲבָדִ֣ים אֲנַ֔חְנוּ וּבְעַבְדֻ֔תֵנוּ לֹ֥א עֲזָבָ֖נוּ אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וַֽיַּט־ עָלֵ֣ינוּ חֶ֡סֶד לִפְנֵי֩ מַלְכֵ֨י פָרַ֜ס לָֽתֶת־ לָ֣נוּ מִֽחְיָ֗ה לְרוֹמֵ֞ם אֶת־ בֵּ֤ית אֱלֹהֵ֙ינוּ֙ וּלְהַעֲמִ֣יד אֶת־ חָרְבֹתָ֔יו וְלָֽתֶת־ לָ֣נוּ גָדֵ֔ר בִּֽיהוּדָ֖ה וּבִירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ ס

    For we were bondmen; yet our God hath not forsaken us in our bondage, but hath extended mercy unto us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to give us a reviving, to set up the house of our God, and to repair the desolations thereof, and to give us a wall in Judah and in Jerusalem.

    Want wij zijn knechten; doch in onze dienstbaarheid heeft ons onze God niet verlaten; maar Hij heeft weldadigheid tot ons geneigd voor het aangezicht der koningen van Perzie, dat Hij ons een weinig levens gave, om het huis onzes Gods te verhogen, en de woestigheden van hetzelve op te richten, en om ons een tuin te geven in Juda en te Jeruzalem.

40. Nehemia 1:5

    וָאֹמַ֗ר אָֽנָּ֤א יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם הָאֵ֥ל הַגָּד֖וֹל וְהַנּוֹרָ֑א שֹׁמֵ֤ר הַבְּרִית֙ וָחֶ֔סֶד לְאֹהֲבָ֖יו וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י מִצְוֹתָֽיו׃

    And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:

    En ik zeide: Och, HEERE, God des hemels, Gij, grote en vreselijke God! Die het verbond en de goedertierenheid houdt dien, die Hem liefhebben, en Zijn geboden houden.

41. Nehemia 9:17

    And refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them; but hardened their necks, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage: but thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and forsookest them not.

    En zij hebben geweigerd te horen, en niet gedacht aan Uw wonderen, die Gij bij hen gedaan hadt, en hebben hun nek verhard, en in hun wederspannigheid een hoofd gesteld, om weder te keren tot hun dienstbaarheid. Doch Gij, een God van vergevingen, genadig en barmhartig, lankmoedig, en groot van weldadigheid, hebt hen evenwel niet verlaten.

42. Nehemia 9:32

    וְעַתָּ֣ה אֱ֠לֹהֵינוּ הָאֵ֨ל הַגָּד֜וֹל הַגִּבּ֣וֹר וְהַנּוֹרָא֮ שׁוֹמֵ֣ר הַבְּרִ֣ית וְהַחֶסֶד֒ אַל־ יִמְעַ֣ט לְפָנֶ֡יךָ אֵ֣ת כָּל־ הַתְּלָאָ֣ה אֲֽשֶׁר־ מְ֠צָאַתְנוּ לִמְלָכֵ֨ינוּ לְשָׂרֵ֧ינוּ וּלְכֹהֲנֵ֛ינוּ וְלִנְבִיאֵ֥נוּ וְלַאֲבֹתֵ֖ינוּ וּלְכָל־ עַמֶּ֑ךָ מִימֵי֙ מַלְכֵ֣י אַשּׁ֔וּר עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

    Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.

    Nu dan, o onze God, Gij grote, Gij machtige, en Gij vreselijke God, Die het verbond en de weldadigheid houdt; laat voor Uw aangezicht niet gering zijn al de moeite, die ons getroffen heeft, onze koningen, onze vorsten, en onze priesteren; en onze profeten, en onze vaderen, en Uw ganse volk, van de dagen der koningen van Assur af tot op dezen dag.

43. Ester 2:9

    And the maiden pleased him, and she obtained kindness of him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, with such things as belonged to her, and seven maidens, which were meet to be given her, out of the king’s house: and he preferred her and her maids unto the best place of the house of the women.

44. Ester 2:17

    וַיֶּאֱהַ֨ב הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ אֶת־ אֶסְתֵּר֙ מִכָּל־ הַנָּשִׁ֔ים וַתִּשָּׂא־ חֵ֥ן וָחֶ֛סֶד לְפָנָ֖יו מִכָּל־ הַבְּתוּלֹ֑ת וַיָּ֤שֶׂם כֶּֽתֶר־ מַלְכוּת֙ בְּרֹאשָׁ֔הּ וַיַּמְלִיכֶ֖הָ תַּ֥חַת וַשְׁתִּֽי׃

    And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

45. Job 6:14

    לַמָּ֣ס מֵרֵעֵ֣הוּ חָ֑סֶד וְיִרְאַ֖ת שַׁדַּ֣י יַעֲזֽוֹב׃

    To him that is afflicted pity should be shewed from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.

    Aan hem, die versmolten is, zou van zijn vriend weldadigheid geschieden; of hij zou de vreze des Almachtigen verlaten.

46. Job 10:12

    חַיִּ֣ים וָ֭חֶסֶד עָשִׂ֣יתָ עִמָּדִ֑י וּ֝פְקֻדָּתְךָ֗ שָֽׁמְרָ֥ה רוּחִֽי׃

    Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

    Benevens het leven hebt Gij weldadigheid aan mij gedaan, en Uw opzicht heeft mijn geest bewaard.

47. Job 37:13

    אִם־ לְשֵׁ֥בֶט אִם־ לְאַרְצ֑וֹ אִם־ לְ֝חֶ֗סֶד יַמְצִאֵֽהוּ׃

    He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

    Hetzij dat Hij die tot een roede, of tot Zijn land, of tot weldadigheid beschikt.

48. Psalmen 18:50

    מַגְדִּיל֮ יְשׁוּע֪וֹת מַ֫לְכּ֥וֹ וְעֹ֤שֶׂה חֶ֨סֶד׀ לִמְשִׁיח֗וֹ לְדָוִ֥ד וּלְזַרְע֗וֹ עַד־ עוֹלָֽם׃

    Great deliverance giveth he to his king; and sheweth mercy to his anointed, to David, and to his seed for evermore.

49. Psalmen 23:6

    אַ֤ךְ׀ ט֤וֹב וָחֶ֣סֶד יִ֭רְדְּפוּנִי כָּל־ יְמֵ֣י חַיָּ֑י וְשַׁבְתִּ֥י בְּבֵית־ יְ֝הוָ֗ה לְאֹ֣רֶךְ יָמִֽים׃

    Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

    Immers zullen mij het goede en de weldadigheid volgen al de dagen mijns levens; en ik zal in het huis des HEEREN blijven in lengte van dagen.

50. Psalmen 25:10

    כָּל־ אָרְח֣וֹת יְ֭הוָה חֶ֣סֶד וֶאֱמֶ֑ת לְנֹצְרֵ֥י בְ֝רִית֗וֹ וְעֵדֹתָֽיו׃

    All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

51. Psalmen 32:10

    רַבִּ֥ים מַכְאוֹבִ֗ים לָרָ֫שָׁ֥ע וְהַבּוֹטֵ֥חַ בַּיהוָ֑ה חֶ֝֗סֶד יְסוֹבְבֶֽנּוּ׃

    Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass him about.

    De goddeloze heeft veel smarten, maar die op den HEERE vertrouwt, dien zal de goedertierenheid omringen.

52. Psalmen 61:7

    יֵשֵׁ֣ב ע֭וֹלָם לִפְנֵ֣י אֱלֹהִ֑ים חֶ֥סֶד וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת מַ֣ן יִנְצְרֻֽהוּ׃

    He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.

    Hij zal eeuwiglijk voor Gods aangezicht zitten; bereid goedertierenheid en waarheid, dat zij hem behoeden.

53. Psalmen 62:12

    וּלְךָֽ־ אֲדֹנָ֥י חָ֑סֶד כִּֽי־ אַתָּ֨ה תְשַׁלֵּ֖ם לְאִ֣ישׁ כְּֽמַעֲשֵֽׂהוּ׃

    Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

    En de goedertierenheid, o Heere! is Uwe; want Gij zult een iegelijk vergelden naar zijn werk.

54. Psalmen 85:10

    חֶֽסֶד־ וֶאֱמֶ֥ת נִפְגָּ֑שׁוּ צֶ֖דֶק וְשָׁל֣וֹם נָשָֽׁקוּ׃

    Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

    De goedertierenheid en waarheid zullen elkander ontmoeten; de gerechtigheid en vrede zullen elkander kussen.

55. Psalmen 86:5

    כִּֽי־ אַתָּ֣ה אֲ֭דֹנָי ט֣וֹב וְסַלָּ֑ח וְרַב־ חֶ֝֗סֶד לְכָל־ קֹרְאֶֽיךָ׃

    For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

    Want Gij, HEERE! zijt goed, en gaarne vergevende, en van grote goedertierenheid allen, die U aanroepen.

56. Psalmen 86:15

    וְאַתָּ֣ה אֲ֭דֹנָי אֵל־ רַח֣וּם וְחַנּ֑וּן אֶ֥רֶךְ אַ֝פַּ֗יִם וְרַב־ חֶ֥סֶד וֶאֱמֶֽת׃

    But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.

    Maar Gij, Heere! zijt een barmhartig en genadig God, lankmoedig, en groot van goedertierenheid en waarheid.

57. Psalmen 89:2

    כִּֽי־ אָמַ֗רְתִּי ע֭וֹלָם חֶ֣סֶד יִבָּנֶ֑ה שָׁמַ֓יִם׀ תָּכִ֖ן אֱמוּנָתְךָ֣ בָהֶֽם׃

    For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness shalt thou establish in the very heavens.

    Want ik heb gezegd: Uw goedertierenheid zal eeuwiglijk gebouwd worden; in de hemelen zelve hebt Gij Uw waarheid bevestigd, zeggende:

58. Psalmen 89:14

    צֶ֣דֶק וּ֭מִשְׁפָּט מְכ֣וֹן כִּסְאֶ֑ךָ חֶ֥סֶד וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת יְֽקַדְּמ֥וּ פָנֶֽיךָ׃

    Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.

    Gerechtigheid en gericht zijn de vastigheid Uws troons; goedertierenheid en waarheid gaan voor Uw aanschijn henen.

59. Psalmen 101:1

    חֶֽסֶד־ וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט אָשִׁ֑ירָה לְךָ֖ יְהוָ֣ה אֲזַמֵּֽרָה׃

    I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O LORD, will I sing.

    Een psalm van David. Ik zal van goedertierenheid en recht zingen; U zal ik psalmzingen, o HEERE!

60. Psalmen 103:4

    הַגּוֹאֵ֣ל מִשַּׁ֣חַת חַיָּ֑יְכִי הַֽ֝מְעַטְּרֵ֗כִי חֶ֣סֶד וְרַחֲמִֽים׃

    Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

    Die uw leven verlost van het verderf, die u kroont met goedertierenheid en barmhartigheden;

61. Psalmen 103:8

    רַח֣וּם וְחַנּ֣וּן יְהוָ֑ה אֶ֖רֶךְ אַפַּ֣יִם וְרַב־ חָֽסֶד׃

    The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.

    Barmhartig en genadig is de HEERE, lankmoedig en groot van goedertierenheid.

62. Psalmen 109:12

    אַל־ יְהִי־ ל֭וֹ מֹשֵׁ֣ךְ חָ֑סֶד וְֽאַל־ יְהִ֥י ח֝וֹנֵ֗ן לִיתוֹמָֽיו׃

    Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children.

    Dat hij niemand hebbe, die weldadigheid over hem uitstrekke, en dat er niemand zij, die zijn wezen genadig zij.

63. Psalmen 109:16

    יַ֗עַן אֲשֶׁ֤ר׀ לֹ֥א זָכַר֮ עֲשׂ֪וֹת חָ֥סֶד וַיִּרְדֹּ֡ף אִישׁ־ עָנִ֣י וְ֭אֶבְיוֹן וְנִכְאֵ֨ה לֵבָ֬ב לְמוֹתֵֽת׃

    Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.

    Omdat hij niet gedacht heeft weldadigheid te doen, maar heeft den ellendigen en den nooddruftigen man vervolgd, en den verslagene van hart, om hem te doden.

64. Psalmen 130:7

    יַחֵ֥ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶל־ יְה֫וָה כִּֽי־ עִם־ יְהוָ֥ה הַחֶ֑סֶד וְהַרְבֵּ֖ה עִמּ֣וֹ פְדֽוּת׃

    Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

    Israel hope op den HEERE; want bij den HEERE is goedertierenheid, en bij Hem is veel verlossing.

65. Psalmen 141:5

    יֶֽהֶלְמֵֽנִי־ צַדִּ֨יק׀ חֶ֡סֶד וְֽיוֹכִיחֵ֗נִי שֶׁ֣מֶן רֹ֭אשׁ אַל־ יָנִ֣י רֹאשִׁ֑י כִּי־ ע֥וֹד וּ֝תְפִלָּתִ֗י בְּרָעוֹתֵיהֶֽם׃

    Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

    De rechtvaardige sla mij, het zal weldadigheid zijn; en hij bestraffe mij, het zal olie des hoofds zijn, het zal mijn hoofd niet breken; want nog zal ook mijn gebed voor hen zijn in hun tegenspoeden.

66. Psalmen 145:8

    חַנּ֣וּן וְרַח֣וּם יְהוָ֑ה אֶ֥רֶךְ אַ֝פַּ֗יִם וּגְדָל־ חָֽסֶד׃

    The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.

    Cheth. Genadig en barmhartig is de HEERE, lankmoedig en groot van goedertierenheid.

67. Spreuken 3:3

    חֶ֥סֶד וֶאֱמֶ֗ת אַֽל־ יַעַ֫זְבֻ֥ךָ קָשְׁרֵ֥ם עַל־ גַּרְגְּרוֹתֶ֑יךָ כָּ֝תְבֵ֗ם עַל־ ל֥וּחַ לִבֶּֽךָ׃

    Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:

    Dat de goedertierenheid en de trouw u niet verlaten; bind ze aan uw hals, schrijf zij op de tafel uws harten.

68. Spreuken 11:17

    גֹּמֵ֣ל נַ֭פְשׁוֹ אִ֣ישׁ חָ֑סֶד וְעֹכֵ֥ר שְׁ֝אֵר֗וֹ אַכְזָרִֽי׃

    The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

    Een goedertieren mens doet zijn ziel wel; maar die wreed is, beroert zijn vlees.

69. Spreuken 14:22

    הֲֽלוֹא־ יִ֭תְעוּ חֹ֣רְשֵׁי רָ֑ע וְחֶ֥סֶד וֶ֝אֱמֶ֗ת חֹ֣רְשֵׁי טֽוֹב׃

    Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

    Dwalen zij niet, die kwaad stichten? Maar weldadigheid en trouw is voor degenen, die goed stichten.

70. Spreuken 16:6

    בְּחֶ֣סֶד וֶ֭אֱמֶת יְכֻפַּ֣ר עָוֹ֑ן וּבְיִרְאַ֥ת יְ֝הוָ֗ה ס֣וּר מֵרָֽע׃

    By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

    Door goedertierenheid en trouw wordt de misdaad verzoend; en door de vreze des HEEREN wijkt men af van het kwade.

71. Spreuken 20:28

    חֶ֣סֶד וֶ֭אֱמֶת יִצְּרוּ־ מֶ֑לֶךְ וְסָעַ֖ד בַּחֶ֣סֶד כִּסְאֽוֹ׃

    Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.

    Weldadigheid en waarheid bewaren den koning; en door weldadigheid ondersteunt hij zijn troon.

72. Spreuken 21:21

    רֹ֭דֵף צְדָקָ֣ה וָחָ֑סֶד יִמְצָ֥א חַ֝יִּ֗ים צְדָקָ֥ה וְכָבֽוֹד׃

    He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.

    Die rechtvaardigheid en weldadigheid najaagt, zal het leven, rechtvaardigheid en eer vinden.

73. Spreuken 31:26

    פִּ֭יהָ פָּתְחָ֣ה בְחָכְמָ֑ה וְתֽוֹרַת־ חֶ֝֗סֶד עַל־ לְשׁוֹנָֽהּ׃

    She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

    Pe. Zij doet haar mond open met wijsheid; en op haar tong is leer der goeddadigheid.

74. Jesaja 16:5

    וְהוּכַ֤ן בַּחֶ֙סֶד֙ כִּסֵּ֔א וְיָשַׁ֥ב עָלָ֛יו בֶּאֱמֶ֖ת בְּאֹ֣הֶל דָּוִ֑ד שֹׁפֵ֛ט וְדֹרֵ֥שׁ מִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּמְהִ֥ר צֶֽדֶק׃

    And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

    Want er zal een troon bevestigd worden in goedertierenheid, en op denzelven zal bestendig een zitten in de tent van David, een, die oordeelt en het recht zoekt, en vaardig is ter gerechtigheid.

75. Jesaja 57:1

    הַצַּדִּ֣יק אָבָ֔ד וְאֵ֥ין אִ֖ישׁ שָׂ֣ם עַל־ לֵ֑ב וְאַנְשֵׁי־ חֶ֤סֶד נֶֽאֱסָפִים֙ בְּאֵ֣ין מֵבִ֔ין כִּֽי־ מִפְּנֵ֥י הָרָעָ֖ה נֶאֱסַ֥ף הַצַּדִּֽיק׃

    The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

    De rechtvaardige komt om, en er is niemand, die het ter harte neemt; en de weldadige lieden worden weggeraapt, zonder dat er iemand op let, dat de rechtvaardige weggeraapt wordt voor het kwaad.

76. Jeremia 9:24

    כִּ֣י אִם־ בְּזֹ֞את יִתְהַלֵּ֣ל הַמִּתְהַלֵּ֗ל הַשְׂכֵּל֮ וְיָדֹ֣עַ אוֹתִי֒ כִּ֚י אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה עֹ֥שֶׂה חֶ֛סֶד מִשְׁפָּ֥ט וּצְדָקָ֖ה בָּאָ֑רֶץ כִּֽי־ בְאֵ֥לֶּה חָפַ֖צְתִּי נְאֻם־ יְהוָֽה׃ ס

    But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

    Maar die zich beroemt, beroeme zich hierin, dat hij verstaat, en Mij kent, dat Ik de HEERE ben, doende weldadigheid, recht en gerechtigheid op de aarde, want in die dingen heb Ik lust, spreekt de HEERE.

77. Jeremia 16:5

    כִּֽי־ כֹ֣ה׀ אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֗ה אַל־ תָּבוֹא֙ בֵּ֣ית מַרְזֵ֔חַ וְאַל־ תֵּלֵ֣ךְ לִסְפּ֔וֹד וְאַל־ תָּנֹ֖ד לָהֶ֑ם כִּֽי־ אָסַ֨פְתִּי אֶת־ שְׁלוֹמִ֜י מֵאֵ֨ת הָעָ֤ם־ הַזֶּה֙ נְאֻם־ יְהוָ֔ה אֶת־ הַחֶ֖סֶד וְאֶת־ הָֽרַחֲמִֽים׃

    For thus saith the LORD, Enter not into the house of mourning, neither go to lament nor bemoan them: for I have taken away my peace from this people, saith the LORD, even lovingkindness and mercies.

    Want zo zegt de HEERE: Ga niet in het huis desgenen, die een rouwmaaltijd houdt, en ga niet henen om te rouwklagen, en heb geen medelijden met hen; want Ik heb van dit volk (spreekt de HEERE) weggenomen Mijn vrede, goedertierenheid en barmhartigheden;

78. Jeremia 31:3

    מֵרָח֕וֹק יְהוָ֖ה נִרְאָ֣ה לִ֑י וְאַהֲבַ֤ת עוֹלָם֙ אֲהַבְתִּ֔יךְ עַל־ כֵּ֖ן מְשַׁכְתִּ֥יךְ חָֽסֶד׃

    The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

    De HEERE is mij verschenen van verre tijden! Ja, Ik heb u liefgehad met een eeuwige liefde; daarom heb Ik u getrokken met goedertierenheid.

79. Jeremia 32:18

    עֹ֤שֶׂה חֶ֙סֶד֙ לַֽאֲלָפִ֔ים וּמְשַׁלֵּם֙ עֲוֹ֣ן אָב֔וֹת אֶל־ חֵ֥יק בְּנֵיהֶ֖ם אַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם הָאֵ֤ל הַגָּדוֹל֙ הַגִּבּ֔וֹר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת שְׁמֽוֹ׃

    Thou shewest lovingkindness unto thousands, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them: the Great, the Mighty God, the LORD of hosts, is his name,

    Gij, Die goedertierenheid doet aan duizenden, en de ongerechtigheid der vaderen vergeldt in den schoot hunner kinderen na hen; Gij grote, Gij geweldige God, Wiens Naam is HEERE der heirscharen!

80. Daniël 1:9

    וַיִּתֵּ֤ן הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ אֶת־ דָּ֣נִיֵּ֔אל לְחֶ֖סֶד וּֽלְרַחֲמִ֑ים לִפְנֵ֖י שַׂ֥ר הַסָּרִיסִֽים׃

    Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

    En God gaf Daniel genade en barmhartigheid voor het aangezicht van den overste der kamerlingen.

81. Daniël 9:4

    וָֽאֶתְפַּֽלְלָ֛ה לַיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהַ֖י וָאֶתְוַדֶּ֑ה וָאֹֽמְרָ֗ה אָנָּ֤א אֲדֹנָי֙ הָאֵ֤ל הַגָּדוֹל֙ וְהַנּוֹרָ֔א שֹׁמֵ֤ר הַבְּרִית֙ וְֽהַחֶ֔סֶד לְאֹהֲבָ֖יו וּלְשֹׁמְרֵ֥י מִצְוֹתָֽיו׃

    And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;

    Ik bad dan tot den HEERE, mijn God, en deed belijdenis, en zeide: Och Heere! Gij grote en verschrikkelijke God, Die het verbond en de weldadigheid houdt dien, die Hem liefhebben en Zijn geboden houden.

82. Hosea 2:19

    וְאֵרַשְׂתִּ֥יךְ לִ֖י לְעוֹלָ֑ם וְאֵרַשְׂתִּ֥יךְ לִי֙ בְּצֶ֣דֶק וּבְמִשְׁפָּ֔ט וּבְחֶ֖סֶד וּֽבְרַחֲמִֽים׃

    And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies.

    En Ik zal u Mij ondertrouwen in eeuwigheid; ja, Ik zal u Mij ondertrouwen in gerechtigheid en in gericht, en in goedertierenheid en in barmhartigheden.

83. Hosea 4:1

    שִׁמְע֥וּ דְבַר־ יְהוָ֖ה בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל כִּ֣י רִ֤יב לַֽיהוָה֙ עִם־ יוֹשְׁבֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ כִּ֠י אֵין־ אֱמֶ֧ת וְֽאֵין־ חֶ֛סֶד וְאֵֽין־ דַּ֥עַת אֱלֹהִ֖ים בָּאָֽרֶץ׃

    Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.

    Hoort des HEEREN woord, gij kinderen Israels! want de HEERE heeft een twist met de inwoners des lands, omdat er geen trouw, en geen weldadigheid, en geen kennis van God in het land is;

84. Hosea 6:6

    כִּ֛י חֶ֥סֶד חָפַ֖צְתִּי וְלֹא־ זָ֑בַח וְדַ֥עַת אֱלֹהִ֖ים מֵעֹלֽוֹת׃

    For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

    Want Ik heb lust tot weldadigheid, en niet tot offer; en tot de kennis Gods, meer dan tot brandofferen.

85. Hosea 10:12

    זִרְע֨וּ לָכֶ֤ם לִצְדָקָה֙ קִצְר֣וּ לְפִי־ חֶ֔סֶד נִ֥ירוּ לָכֶ֖ם נִ֑יר וְעֵת֙ לִדְר֣וֹשׁ אֶת־ יְהוָ֔ה עַד־ יָב֕וֹא וְיֹרֶ֥ה צֶ֖דֶק לָכֶֽם׃

    Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you.

    Zaait u tot gerechtigheid, maait tot weldadigheid; braakt u een braakland; dewijl het tijd is den HEERE te zoeken, totdat Hij kome, en over u de gerechtigheid regene.

86. Hosea 12:6

    וְאַתָּ֖ה בֵּאלֹהֶ֣יךָ תָשׁ֑וּב חֶ֤סֶד וּמִשְׁפָּט֙ שְׁמֹ֔ר וְקַוֵּ֥ה אֶל־ אֱלֹהֶ֖יךָ תָּמִֽיד׃

    Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.

    Gij dan, bekeer u tot uw God, bewaar weldadigheid en recht, en wacht geduriglijk op uw God.

87. Joël 2:13

    וְקִרְע֤וּ לְבַבְכֶם֙ וְאַל־ בִּגְדֵיכֶ֔ם וְשׁ֖וּבוּ אֶל־ יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֑ם כִּֽי־ חַנּ֤וּן וְרַחוּם֙ ה֔וּא אֶ֤רֶךְ אַפַּ֙יִם֙ וְרַב־ חֶ֔סֶד וְנִחָ֖ם עַל־ הָרָעָֽה׃

    And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.

    En scheurt uw hart en niet uw klederen, en bekeert u tot den HEERE, uw God; want Hij is genadig en barmhartig, lankmoedig en groot van goedertierenheid, en berouw hebbende over het kwade.

88. Jona 4:2

    וַיִּתְפַּלֵּ֨ל אֶל־ יְהוָ֜ה וַיֹּאמַ֗ר אָנָּ֤ה יְהוָה֙ הֲלוֹא־ זֶ֣ה דְבָרִ֗י עַד־ הֱיוֹתִי֙ עַל־ אַדְמָתִ֔י עַל־ כֵּ֥ן קִדַּ֖מְתִּי לִבְרֹ֣חַ תַּרְשִׁ֑ישָׁה כִּ֣י יָדַ֗עְתִּי כִּ֤י אַתָּה֙ אֵֽל־ חַנּ֣וּן וְרַח֔וּם אֶ֤רֶךְ אַפַּ֙יִם֙ וְרַב־ חֶ֔סֶד וְנִחָ֖ם עַל־ הָרָעָֽה׃

    And he prayed unto the LORD, and said, I pray thee, O LORD, was not this my saying, when I was yet in my country? Therefore I fled before unto Tarshish: for I knew that thou art a gracious God, and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repentest thee of the evil.

    En hij bad tot den HEERE, en zeide: Och HEERE! was dit mijn woord niet, als ik nog in mijn land was? Daarom kwam ik het voor, vluchtende naar Tarsis; want ik wist, dat Gij een genadig en barmhartig God zijt, lankmoedig en groot van goedertierenheid, en berouw hebbende over het kwaad.

89. Micha 6:8

    הִגִּ֥יד לְךָ֛ אָדָ֖ם מַה־ טּ֑וֹב וּמָֽה־ יְהוָ֞ה דּוֹרֵ֣שׁ מִמְּךָ֗ כִּ֣י אִם־ עֲשׂ֤וֹת מִשְׁפָּט֙ וְאַ֣הֲבַת חֶ֔סֶד וְהַצְנֵ֥עַ לֶ֖כֶת עִם־ אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ פ

    He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

    Hij heeft u bekend gemaakt, o mens! wat goed is; en wat eist de HEERE van u, dan recht te doen, en weldadigheid lief te hebben, en ootmoediglijk te wandelen met uw God?

90. Micha 7:18

    מִי־ אֵ֣ל כָּמ֗וֹךָ נֹשֵׂ֤א עָוֹן֙ וְעֹבֵ֣ר עַל־ פֶּ֔שַׁע לִשְׁאֵרִ֖ית נַחֲלָת֑וֹ לֹא־ הֶחֱזִ֤יק לָעַד֙ אַפּ֔וֹ כִּֽי־ חָפֵ֥ץ חֶ֖סֶד הֽוּא׃

    Who is a God like unto thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage? he retaineth not his anger for ever, because he delighteth in mercy.

    Wie is een God gelijk Gij, Die de ongerechtigheid vergeeft, en de overtreding van het overblijfsel Zijner erfenis voorbijgaat? Hij houdt Zijn toorn niet in eeuwigheid; want Hij heeft lust aan goedertierenheid.

91. Micha 7:20

    תִּתֵּ֤ן אֱמֶת֙ לְיַֽעֲקֹ֔ב חֶ֖סֶד לְאַבְרָהָ֑ם אֲשֶׁר־ נִשְׁבַּ֥עְתָּ לַאֲבֹתֵ֖ינוּ מִ֥ימֵי קֶֽדֶם׃

    Thou wilt perform the truth to Jacob, and the mercy to Abraham, which thou hast sworn unto our fathers from the days of old.

    Gij zult Jakob de trouw, Abraham de goedertierenheid geven, die Gij onzen vaderen van oude dagen af gezworen hebt.

92. Zacharia 7:9

    כֹּ֥ה אָמַ֛ר יְהוָ֥ה צְבָא֖וֹת לֵאמֹ֑ר מִשְׁפַּ֤ט אֱמֶת֙ שְׁפֹ֔טוּ וְחֶ֣סֶד וְרַֽחֲמִ֔ים עֲשׂ֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ אֶת־ אָחִֽיו׃
