    75:1Voor den opperzangmeester, Altascheth; een psalm, een lied, voor Asaf.

    To the chief Musician, Al-taschith, A Psalm or Song of Asaph.

    75:2Wij loven U, o God; wij loven, dat Uw Naam nabij is; men vertelt Uw wonderen.

    Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

    75:3Als ik het bestemde ambt zal ontvangen hebben, zo zal ik gans recht richten.

    When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.

    75:4Het land en al zijn inwoners waren versmolten; maar ik heb zijn pilaren vastgemaakt. Sela.

    The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.

    75:5Ik heb gezegd tot de onzinnigen: Weest niet onzinnig; en tot de goddelozen: Verhoogt den hoorn niet.

    I said unto the fools, Deal not foolishly: and to the wicked, Lift not up the horn:

    75:6Verhoogt uw hoorn niet omhoog; spreekt niet met stijven hals.

    Lift not up your horn on high: speak not with a stiff neck.

    75:7Want het verhogen komt niet uit het oosten, noch uit het westen, noch uit de woestijn;

    For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

    75:8Maar God is Rechter; Hij vernedert dezen, en verhoogt genen.

    But God is the judge: he putteth down one, and setteth up another.

    75:9Want in des HEEREN hand is een beker, en de wijn is beroerd, vol van mengeling, en Hij schenkt daaruit; doch alle goddelozen der aarde zullen zijn droesemen uitzuigende drinken.

    For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he poureth out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

    75:10En ik zal het in eeuwigheid verkondigen; ik zal den God Jakobs psalmzingen.

    But I will declare for ever; I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.

    75:11En ik zal alle hoornen der goddelozen afhouwen; de hoornen des rechtvaardigen zullen verhoogd worden.

    All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be exalted.
