Psalms 147
- 1
Looft den HEERE, want onzen God te psalmzingen is goed, dewijl Hij liefelijk is; de lof is betamelijk.
Praise ye the LORD: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely.

De HEERE bouwt Jeruzalem; Hij vergadert Israels verdrevenen.
The LORD doth build up Jerusalem: he gathereth together the outcasts of Israel.

Hij geneest de gebrokenen van hart, en Hij verbindt hen in hun smarten.
He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
- 4
Hij telt het getal der sterren; Hij noemt ze allen bij namen.
He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.
- 5
Onze Heere is groot en van veel kracht; Zijns verstands is geen getal.
Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
- 6
De HEERE houdt de zachtmoedigen staande; de goddelozen vernedert Hij, tot de aarde toe.
The LORD lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.
- 7
Zingt den HEERE bij beurte met dankzegging; psalmzingt onzen God op de harp.
Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving; sing praise upon the harp unto our God:

Die de hemelen met wolken bedekt, Die voor de aarde regen bereidt; Die het gras op de bergen doet uitspruiten;
Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh grass to grow upon the mountains.

Die het vee zijn voeder geeft; aan de jonge raven, als zij roepen.
He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
- 10
Hij heeft geen lust aan de sterkte des paards; Hij heeft geen welgevallen aan de benen des mans.
He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.

De HEERE heeft een welgevallen aan hen, die Hem vrezen, die op Zijn goedertierenheid hopen.
The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
- 12
O Jeruzalem! roem den HEERE; o Sion! loof uw God.
Praise the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
- 13
Want Hij maakt de grendelen uwer poorten sterk; Hij zegent uw kinderen binnen in u.
For he hath strengthened the bars of thy gates; he hath blessed thy children within thee.
- 14
Die uw landpalen in vrede stelt; Hij verzadigt u met het vette der tarwe.
He maketh peace in thy borders, and filleth thee with the finest of the wheat.
- 15
Hij zendt Zijn bevel op aarde; Zijn woord loopt zeer snel.
He sendeth forth his commandment upon earth: his word runneth very swiftly.
- 16
Hij geeft sneeuw als wol; Hij strooit den rijm als as.
He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
- 17
Hij werpt Zijn ijs heen als stukken; wie zou bestaan voor Zijn koude?
He casteth forth his ice like morsels: who can stand before his cold?
- 18
Hij zendt Zijn woord, en doet ze smelten; Hij doet Zijn wind waaien, de wateren vloeien henen.
He sendeth out his word, and melteth them: he causeth his wind to blow, and the waters flow.

Hij maakt Jakob Zijn woorden bekend, Israel Zijn inzettingen en Zijn rechten.
He sheweth his word unto Jacob, his statutes and his judgments unto Israel.
- 20
Alzo heeft Hij geen volk gedaan; en Zijn rechten, die kennen zij niet. Hallelujah!
He hath not dealt so with any nation: and as for his judgments, they have not known them. Praise ye the LORD.
